YIKES get me outta here Summary: Beating a dead horse: NEW ancestry is horrible Content: I know this has all been said before. I have returned to OLD ancestry every time I get kicked into NEW ancestry. Now - no option starting December 15. The design, apparently done by computer programmers and without a single person who knows anything about human factors, is visually assaulting, requires many more mouse clicks, is organizationally absured in terms of where menus etc are placed, and in general, just does a huge disservice to those of us who spendg many hours a day on this site. BLUE/ GREEN and ORANGE icons on a dark background - really? Adding all sorts of superfluous and distracting information - really? And, of course, ancestry KNOWS many people are trapped - not exactly easy to take your tree and leave. Although, I will be looking into other family tree software ( NOT Family TREE MAKER) and other search engines so that I can leave ancestry. Luckily, my trees are just about finished so it really won't be too bad to leave. I'm very disappointed that the people running ancestry were not able to recognize that the new site is a disaster. I'm sure they are consoling themselves that its just old people who don't like change, but I'm not old and change is great when it improves on something.
