If the answer to my issue has been resolved elsewhere, please provide a link to said thread. Otherwise, without further ado. To avoid wordiness, I will just give a breakdown of my recording setup/problems I've encountered. Comp: Intel i3-2120 CPU 8 GB Ram Windows 7 HP Edition 64-bit Recording HW/ SW: MBox 2 USB Reaper (obviously) x64 edition Plugged in MBox 2. Windows could not automatically install drivers. Went to Avid's site and downloaded driver b and installed. Ran Reaper. Under Audio-> Device in preferences, Reaper showed ASIO Digidesign driver MBox 2, but no options in drop down boxes for I/ O. When selecting the MBox, I got the following error: user privileges insufficient to start a low level driver. checked some forums for advice, deleted driver, re-installed with run as administrator option, and got same error in Reaper. Ran Reaper as administrator-new error, essentially saying Updated TPkd Driver required, and a reboot. Researched TPkd driver, someone on a forum suggested downloading the MBox family driver. After installing family driver and running Reaper, my computer went to the blue error screen of death, and then reset itself. Had problems after the reset, so I did a system restore to right before that last driver had been installed. Uninstalled all of the MBox drivers, reinstalled original MBox driver and opened Reaper (both as administrator, right away, this time). Reaper recognizes the MBox ASIO driver and had I/ O options! Selected the inputs and outputs, and tapped on the microphone I had plugged in. I could hear sound coming through my headphones, so I knew that something was at least finally.
