If you have found this site you are likely already know what a driver is and what it does but here is a quick refresher. A device driver or software driver (same thing) is a computer program that allows higher-level programs to interact with a hardware device. What that means is that a driver is what allows your computer to communicate with a piece of hardware such as a printer or digital camera. Here are the most common driver types so if you are having problems with any of these then Driver Detective can help: Printer Digital Camera Audio and Sound Downloaded Video Keyboard and Mouse Network Connections Webcam What makes Driver Detective different from other driver finding programs? Driver Detective is the only program that uses Machine Intelligence Match, which scans your computers manufacturer, model specifics, operating system and level of updates. This insures that all of the drivers that are found and suggested by Driver Detective are a perfect match with your unique computer. Next, Driver Detective runs a driver scanning engine to scan your hardware devices like your printer. The exact information about your computer is combined with the details of your hardware and this is all matched against a proprietary database to find and recommend the exact driver or software for your device. All you have to do is click download and follow the simple install instructions and your driver related issues should be solved. Still having issues?.
Alright, it's quiz time (and you thought you were getting off easy!).  What is perhaps the prominent technological advancement in Personal Computing, beyond high clock speeds with more processing power?  Come on now. use your noggin.  Well, for the detectives in our midst, we're sure you're thinking along the lines of the Shuttle product we're taking a look at today.  If you guessed the word integration, you win the prize!  If there is one leading indicator of next generation technology for electronics and semiconductors, it's feature size.  As things are getting faster, they are also getting smaller and with that comes the ability to pack more features in a square millimeter of PCB real estate. Shuttle has certainly been making a name for themselves with their new line of mini PCs or XPCs, as they would call them.  What is more impressive about the recent round of XPCs from Shuttle, are the new capabilities they are now integrating, which allow them to deliver performance and features on par with a full sized unit.  In Jeff's recent review of the Shuttle SS51 G, we saw the advent of the AGP slot in these units, a critical component for the graphics subsystem in these designs.  Let's face it, integrated graphics or PCI slots, just weren't cutting it. Now, in addition to the AGP slot, which opens a whole new world of 3 D horsepower, Shuttle is incorporating the latest Pentium 4 chipset for DDR SDRAM, the i845 GE.  The GE variant of the i845 has integrated graphics from Intel, but also supports Hyperthreading technology for the recently released Pentium 3 GHz processor.  Now, perhaps it would make sense to throw a 3 GHz chip in a mini PC like this.  However, as we've learned recently, Intel is going to drive Hyperthreading across its entire product line eventually.  So, more importantly, users will have that migration path to HT enabled CPUs moving forward, with the.
Keep all device drivers up to date to get the most out of your computer's resources with the help of this powerful and easy to use application A driver represents a manual for its dedicated device. In other words, the newer and thorough the driver, the better a device performs. Since there is a breathtaking amount of different computer configurations that combine various devices, it's both a nuisance and time-consuming process to manually keep your drivers up to date. Luckily, this matter can be left in the hands of specialized applications such as Driver Detective. Easily keeps everything updated The application runs in an incredibly intuitive interface, taking little time to get acquainted with its features. Right from the start, detected devices are displayed along with installed driver and whether or not they need to be renewed. You can choose to view all available devices, those that properly function or simply ones that have out of date drivers. From disk drives, display adapters, human interface devices to system or even “unplugged” devices, the application snoops through everything it can find in a quick, but in-depth scan of your computer. Carefully select your computer make and model It is difficult to believe that the application's intelligent scan system fails to properly identify your machine. However, if this is the case, or you simply want to look up drivers for a different configuration, an integrated list is available with probably all makes and models on the market. Additionally, you can set the application to recommend universal drivers, if you don't want to risk crashing your system, make use of its “ OEM Match Intelligence” feature for detailed results, or prioritize motherboard drivers if your computer is custom built. Have your drivers ready to install anytime One of the most interesting and useful features, is the “ Easy Migrator”. This enables.
